Little secret. In my early days of working as a programmer, I would use a plugin to automatically track how much time I spent writing each professional email to my colleagues in the company. Then I would assemble a spreadsheet with each e-mail, and the time it took to write it, multiply it by my hourly salary, and offer it to my manager to evaluate if it was worth the company's money or not.

Soon enough, I wasn't receiving ANY e-mails anymore.

Best time ever.

*notes it down for future use* 😂

TLDR: Just read something from a programmer and it’s legit for all jobs 🥰

1. Use plug in to autotrack professional email times & responses given.

2. Create spreadsheet showing the math.

3. Present to boss.

Results: No more emails.

Savage 😁

Also I wish I could be that efficient in my regular work

Lol nice

You were lucky your company gave a crap. Everywhere I work(ed) they don't. Somehow it's more imporatnt for them to "communicate" the do.

So I have a different strategy. I'm so direct that nobody want my answers. They think twice before including me :)

🔥

This is amazing.

🤯

I don’t read email until somebody calls to complain I missed something. Then I say, if it was important you should have called. Not that I would have answered though.

hehe, neat

i was just wondering today if my "work time" is mostly managing emails"- when I work remote I like emails more than phone calls because it's easier to track the intell for the inquiry. I like meetings and phone calls least for work. Meetings are my happy hours and phone calls surprise "what's up! cheers." I leave the work in the emails-but I leave the fun/relational priority fun for the calls and "gatherings."

Thinking out loud;)
