The biggest reason why people are retarded now is because they don’t KNOW primary sources and cannot trace ideological history. They do not understand how modern feminism was shaped by Gnosticism, how Keynes came from Marx who came from Hegel who came from Kant who came from Plato/Hume, etc.

Something happened after WWII where they stopped teaching intellectual history/traditions and started teaching isolated intellectuals or, even worse, isolated bromides without even their progenitor being mentioned. It is the culture of “it is said” rather than “person X said” where people began accepting their beliefs as stand-alone entities without any connection to any other beliefs, let alone reality.

This is why Rand insisted on the importance of philosophical integration of concepts. You cannot even realize you are in contradiction if you never ATTEMPT a relationship between your accepted principles.

To address the OP: no, I think this is the result of Locke and Hume not being able to epistemologically connect attributes to entities empirically. That led to Kant reestablishing dualism, which then lead to the rest. Neo-Marxism is merely the current end-state of that trajectory.
