They don't have a stake in humanity. They don't care what happens to us. They'll take food from us if provided, but they'd be just as happy to eat us if given the chance.

Dogs are our friends. They are deeply intertwined with humanity. When hunting is called for, they join us in the risk and celebrate the win with us as friends.

Not doing that again. Last parrot I got, the pet shop owner said they were seabirds. Thing didn't last 30 seconds in the saltwater aquarium.
