can't believe it still exists. Not saying its better or worse, but we keep iterating and it just gets better.

Gonna disagree steemit was/is a fuckin nightmare to set up and use. Wallet here, account over there, I tried back when I was into shit coins and said, FUCK THIS SHIT, not worth it.

Steemit is a blog PLATFORM you pay people on with a shit coin.

Nostr is a protocol anyone can build a client for that runs on lightning and could in theory use any form of bitcoin and I hope not but any other crypto. It is simple, easy, works, can be set up and used in minutes by anyone. It is a lite protocol honestly that is easy to develop for. It is nothing like Steem It, but a client, BlogStack is kinda sorta like Steem It.

It absolutely isn't a Bitcoin version of Steemit.

The point of Steemit (and its fork Hive) is to have censorship resistance trough a blockchain, making content impossible to remove and guaranteeing consensus.

Nostr isn't that. It isn't Bitcoin-based or even blockchain-based. There is no consensus. Relays can remove content. Censorship resistance is achieved by using multiple relays that can host the same content.

They serve somewhat similar purposes but are entirely different. And Nostr can be integrated with any cryptocurrency, not just Bitcoin.

That was an ancient history note. forgot it even existed. LOL Of course nostr is not the same.
