Looking for some honest, constructive feedback on a large #bitcoin explainer document that I made. Feedback will get zapped! ⚡

I'm not sold on its formatting or organization. Built it in Docs but will be transferring to my website and #nostr

Objective: create a document to send to friends, family, and others I meet who are interested in learning about Bitcoin. I wanted it to be slightly below surface level: not too technical, not too basic. I also wanted to remove the frictions that a document full of links has by putting the responsibility on the reader to follow links and return back. So it's intended as a "one stop explainer" for people to get their feet wet, and then links at the end to go deeper.

-the “value of btc & money” should definitely go before the “specific & technical” parts

-might’ve missed it, but i didn’t see a breakdown of KYC and its importance

-could add other details about basic security practices (and nostr)

-you’ve gotta add the nostr:nprofile1qqs254dy0xkkjdxsl4u08k7cs52u689q67s3pqfwwyfcp4va7avcjdgpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3vamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3jhvum5wghx7un872j28h app to your list, at least for latin america (easiest on/off ramp & wallet i’ve seen)

-seems like a lot of text thrown at you at once thennn a bunch of links. might be easier for normies to see the related links alongside the text bringing up the idea.

-overall - leaves someone feeling like they know quite a bit about btc

-i think it’s 🔥 to bring in little quips from the community, (ex. “not ur keys…”) because it goes to show that the people who take the first step to learning btc are actually taking steps toward a growing community of people with shared values. this is key in adaption- showing people that the fucked up society we live in because of the fiat standard, is NOT the only way. it’s not the only value system we have to buy into to be part of community. for me, true orange pilling is a lot easier when i bring up this point of a transcendent society on a hard money standard.

-i don’t think i read anything on going to a local meetup… 👀

my 2 sats , hope some of it was helpful 🫂⚡️🤍

Thank you so much, I appreciate the feedback! I agree that it is quite a lot of text being thrown at once. Though I think if I format and present it better on my website, it'll be more digestible. Part of my wonders if I should present it as a really short and simple "glance", with the ability to then explore and open the sections up for those who want to read more and dig in. Great idea on incorporating related links alongside the text!

Appreciate you taking the time to review and comment! 🫂

imo in the beginning no one cares about what bitcoin is, they only care about what it can do for them. so i start off by saying it moved my retirement date up 15 years (even though i don’t care, it seems like other ppl care about that a lot). that’s usually enough to get them off 0 if they don’t have any yet, but they usually buy ETF bitcoin at that point. once they’re off 0 it becomes easier to start the orange pilling process but everyone takes their own path, so it’s hard to organize a “one-pager” in a way that makes sense for everyone. For me, for example I didnt want to buy until i understood exactly what i was buying “on the blockchain”, and that required a much more technical discussion than what you have in the “how it works” section. So I needed to learn about block headers, hash pointers, hash functions, ECDSA, UTXOs, etc and how they worked at the technical level before i felt comfortable buying in size. Otherwise, i think you do a really good job of succinctly answering the important questions people have when entering bitcoin in language that’s easy to understand. As an aside, I think no matter how succintly and easily you describe the broken money situation, people really have a difficult time fully appreciating it unless they put things together for themselves, and sometimes that just takes time. So you can try to help guide them to the answers, so that the orange pilling process is faster, but again that can be hard to do with a one pager, which is why i prefer the old fashioned way of one-on-one conversation(:
