go to metadata.nostr.com and login with the nos2x extension so you do not enter your private key into that website. that said, apparently there's a new testflight of Damus hitting tonight that should allow profile editing.

Useful.  Is a Nip05 needed?

is it needed? no. is it nice to have? absolutely. it helps people find you by ID. it helps make your public key human readable. it helps determine that "name@domain1.com" is different than "name@domain2.com" and different than "name".

Are you still doing profile pictures for sats?

I was never selling profile pictures. But I do run nostrplebs.com as a NIP-05 ID service for sats. And today we launched a more premium domain nostrpurple! If you want to say GFY to Twitter Blue, just switch domains in the drop down box on the registration page.

Does that create another email address to manage?

It looks like an email address, but it's not. It's just an ID to use across nostr. You don't have to do anything with it once you add it to your profile. Users can use it to find you and search for you though. (In the future we may activate it as a Lightning address for payments though.)

I went to the site but was a bit overwhelmed. I will try again. I think it required a connection to twitter that threw me off

Typed in a name@ then the drop down under just says loading?

works for me on mobile and desktop. do you have some extension running that blocks javascript? open up a support chat with the purple chat icon in the bottom right. that will let me see your session and see what's possibly happening.

Using duck duck go

As I mentioned in the support chat, I'm guessing that your DuckDuckGo session is set to block scripts. Those may be needed for our application to function properly. Could you try allowing scripts from our domain and reloading the website?

I don't have the skill to unblock script🤦 will try on desktop when I get time tomorrow.

Sure thing. Please use the chat function so we can see exactly what's happening and try to get it resolved for you. There's been ~250 people that have bought IDs. I think it's just an outlining issue with your browser, but I want to help you figure it out. :)
