Umbrel is just an nice interface with bunch of docker containers. They combine together the hard work of others and selling that as an all in one package.
What if you just keep the big bag of your Bitcoin in your bitcoin wallet only you know about and use lightning for small purchases and zaps with custodial wallets.
I have personally break up with lightning nodes because I never have a big portion of sats located in lightning and that's for custodial solutions are just fine. Operating your own lightning node is time consuming and I have other things to do like shitposting about other stuff.
I think this self sovereignty is getting too much in our heads and most of us will do just fine with custodial solutions simply because we don't live in high risk environment.

Don’t have the time to manage my channels anyway. So this is gonna be my setup, along with a full node for onchain stuff.

Start9 has been way more stable in my experience. Had Umbrel on an RPi and learned real quick how garbage that was.
Gonna use the pi as an LibreELEC streamer or something.
If you are running this on a pi your hardware could be the reason you are having so many issues.
