The amount of people using a computer to commit a crime has skyrocketed in the past 30 years.

Pedos will always exist, yes..but the existing information systems today's children are interacting with have heightened risks for encountering child sexual predators that we didn't have in the early 2000s.

The prevalence of dating apps, underground CP and sex trafficking rings, and unmoderated social media groups is out there.

I find it extremely hard to believe that the internet of today is less safe than the Wild West internet of the 90s.

Watch a few hours of people who create content on YouTube/Rumble catching child sexual predators..it's a massive problem.

It's not the same internet, centralized service providers have concentrated the attack surface for today's youth.

And a less interesting argument, but still important, to me is the use of Bitcoin and other cryptos to facilitate these crimes. Overall, it's gotten easier to use a computer to commit a crime. It is a problem with the existing platforms 100%
