You are "reporting" it. The whole point is to tell everyone what you are doing. Hiding it from the profile doesn't do anything. The reported person, and everybody else, can see your report in 1000s different ways. Putting it there just makes things transparent.
You made my point, there's so many ways to see the transparency - why shove it down people's throats in a way that can create tension & bullying.
