I am planning to upgrade the hardware of my lightning node. I run c-lightning with clboss, RTL and LNbits. The node should be able to handle 300-400 channels. I would be grateful for your recommendations as to what the parameters of the baremetal should be and whether or not to use virtualization. #noderunner

Summoning nostr:npub133jhs60urmm6k7tajx4lsmpjezd0j2u0dns5vdgay6svyzxqljmqndzcc2 , look at his post history. He built a Lightning node which seems to be rather powerful.

Depends on your budget, but I would highly suggest https://www.supermicro.com/en/aplus/system/embedded/as-e301-9d-8cn4.cfm (or anything from that range that you think is good) ECC RAM, redundant storage (mirror), etc. No need for virtualization but still can use docker for simplicity of deployment 🐶🐾🫡

Whats your actual Hardware. Whats your Node and Channel count?

Ah found it. Great Node!

For e.g.

I have 37 Channels. My node (lnd) runs on a VM.

Intel 10900kf 10 Cores, 64GB, NVME.

So my VM runs only on 4 Cores, 4GB Ram and uses 10 Percent CPU Power and 2.7 GB RAM.

I dont see any performance issues at all.

But once that happens i simply shutdown the vm for a minute increase cores and Ram and fire it back up.
