Following this idealistic advice will put you into a mass grave. As long as someone in the world is willing to use violence to get what you have, freedom will always require bloodshed. No matter how tolerant you are, you can't tolerate a bullet. Those knuckleheads who are willing to use force cannot be persuaded by your maturity and tolerance.

"Si vis pacem, para bellum./If you want peace, prepare for war."

interesting, what's your take pls #[4]

Math is the ultimate violence, not guns, guns are ephemeral violence, constrained by the rules of thermodynamics, and it vanishes, as always.

Even the mightiest tyrants can’t break the rules of math, for example, prime factorization takes more energy than multiplication, and the multiplication verification is easier than factorization.

This is a simple example of why violence is asymmetrical, and those who believe they have guns means they represent the Violence itself, needs to grow up and be mature.

I do agree that individuals and nations should be ready for war. And if someone wants what I have or tries to hurt me or my family they will be met with a diet of lead from one of my many tools.

But on an individual level, if a neighbor wants to paint his house purple or park on his front lawn, I’m not going to call the HOA.

In my previous post, I was thinking more about local government regulations and nonviolent crimes. I feel like in the US, we have too many trivial rules written by Karens.

I should have clarified that point.

In the US we have redundant and conflicting rules, unenforceable rules, and so many rules it’s impossible to live without unknowingly breaking any number of them. When you’re dealing with law enforcement it’s really just a roll of the dice, will they have knowledge and the will to enforce a law that I am not aware of and am unknowingly breaking? Maybe if they’re in a bad mood they’ll dig deep and find a reason to involve me in a fight for my freedom with the legal system that I can’t practically win. It’s terrifying. Your only course really is to hope the officer is dumb and lazy, be really really polite even if they’re unfair or plain wrong, and know that if you were the DA you could literally get away with anything, but you’re not so you pay. It’s some system we have. You literally could be arrested and have your life ruined completely at any time for practically no reason at all. When the prisons are corporate profit centers paying for favor by the “Justice” system, your expectation is?
