#comicon fans I need your perspective/advice! I got free tickets to attend comicon in London. Now, I will attend with uni but truly I'll be on my own around the exhibition. I wonder how fun or boring this will be. I'm asking people who have attended comicon before.. please share your experiences πŸ™πŸΌ

I've never been to comicon before. But i have the same advice for any type of convention.

Just talk to people. Ask questions and listen to the answers, be amazed at the skill tine and passion people have put into their costumes. It means something to them. And above all just Be yourself , you'll have a blast πŸ‘πŸ»

I’ve been to San Diego Comicon, working a booth. I love the dealer’s room and artists’ tables. Panels and talks can take up a lot of time (standing in line before to be sure to get a seat).

I’d highly recommend having a plan: who/what do you absolutely want to see, and go there first.

Artists are great to talk with, though some bigger names may not always be at their tables.

Bring a bag to carry what you buy, or a water bottle and snack; food and drinks can get pricy. Check the con guidelines if you can bring food in.

If you need time away from the crowds, look to the edges of the convention/hotel area. There are often corridors, stairways that are away from the main events that will be less crowded if you want to sit down for a break.

Since you have a free ticket, I’d recommend trying it, at least for part of a day.

Really good points there! I will do my research today and draft a plan on what I'll do on the day. Thank you so much πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜Š

The food advice was also a fantastic point! Everything will cost an arm and a leg πŸ˜‚

Glad to help! πŸ«‚ Another thought is to bring cash. Most tables take credit cards (in the US), but it can sometimes speed up buying or help out a small artist if you pay with cash, especially for lower priced items, so they don’t have to pay the credit card fees. Paying for a table at a big event like that is very expensive. Hope you have fun!

I can't even remember the last time I had cash on me in the UK πŸ˜…πŸ«£ but you're right, some might accept cash instead! Hopefully they will accept bitcoin, but let's see!

I went a few years ago in Atlanta. It’s not really my scene but I had an entire blast. There was so much going on and tons to see. I thought I’d be judged for not knowing much about anime, comic books, or Japanese stuff but people were super passionate and having so much fun talking about stuff I felt welcomed.

I think you’ll have a good time just be open minded.

Your comment πŸ™πŸΌ honestly I resonate so much with it. I feel like almost everyone is very knowledgeable about anime, comic books etc.. I just like to draw stuff and talk to people! πŸ˜‚ I will definitely go, even though the train tickets will be really expensive. πŸ˜…

Oh no, you’re not alone. I knew nothing. Like most people were dressed up or wearing accessories. I went with someone wearing ears and a tail. I think I was wearing a vneck, shorts, and birkies πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I was a total fish in the desert. But I had fun and learned a lot!

It’s not cheap, so go with the expectation that your money will come back to you. Or think of it as an experience for your scrapbook. You never know β€” you may be really inspired and create a masterpiece. I’m sure it’ll be worth it πŸ˜ŠπŸ§‘πŸ’œπŸŒ»

I love anime! I have not been to #comicon yet. Do you like anime or do you like being around with crowd that mostly look anime? If yes, then it would be fun for you. If not, then it may be boring for you! But there is no harm on trying if it is free tickets and you can afford to travel. β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘

Well I don't spend time watching anime, so I have no clue how this will be like. I'll be dressed like I daily do, so nothing fancy or spectacular. I'm really gonna go just for networking. Fingers crossed 🀞🏼

I am excited and rooting for you.πŸ’― Would be great to see photos of the venue β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‚

I shall post some then πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

yay! can't wait and stay safe! πŸ«‚πŸ‘
