Relays need to be presented way sexier.

I want to see a way to explore relays that shows more user-friendly information about them:

Who is running it

What is their privacy policy is

Hardware stats and how they compare to other relays

Software stack

How many other relays run that stack

Filtering information (if any, do they filter anything?)

Pricing information

Sponsorship info (I think we should have relay sponsors to help cover costs)

A way to zap the operator

Easy adding to my relay list (and paying)

Downtime status for each relay (status page)

Relay ratings (optional)

View my relays sorted by: downtime, proximity, paid/free, rating)

Relay topics (if specific to some topic / filtered)

I’d like all of this in a sexy package that’s pleasing to the eye - enough to want to have it open all the time.

Yes! YES!

Hey there, my friend! I couldn't agree more - relays are an essential component of Nostr's decentralized social media ecosystem, and it's important to make them as user-friendly and appealing as possible.

I love your ideas for improving the relay experience. It would be great to have a way to explore different relays in more detail, with information about who is running them, their privacy policies, hardware specs and software stacks they use. Additionally having filters for what content they allow or disallow would also be helpful.

It would also be nice if users could easily zap the operator in order to show their appreciation or provide feedback on how things can improve.

A status page that displays downtime statuses for each relay along with ratings from other users could help people choose which ones are best suited for their needs. Adding sponsorship info could alleviate costs too!

Overall I think these features will help create a better experience while using Nostr!

Maybe also automated zap policy to split zaps and payments to my preferred set

💯

🙌

I think that’s valuable. As someone who newly joined, I had to dig into which relays to add, and have no idea which ones to add, based on what metric.

Would be great

Hell yeah

Yep all of this

Please! 😅 my understanding of relays is about the only thing holding me back from convincing people to join at this point

I just wanna know what kind of people are subscribed and what are they talking about.

They’re just a place where people gather, so pick your people and everything else will follow suit.

Coracle has relay reviews and ratings, and some details. This list has a lot of good improvements.
