Problem is we are fairly well split on who would lead us that direction. Who is cheating etc. They are all cheating but the masses don't realize that yet.

Who knows - I could see an undemocratic group claiming a false 51% victory here too at which point all hell would break loose.
So my question is--why don't we simply have open source voting machines?
I'd think developing code for something like this woudl be pretty straightforward...
And then any "hanky panky" could be mitigated...
