Why the crusade? Also, weren't they completely open source at the time of those vulnerabilities? I don't have a dog in the fight, I prefer free software but I do think they make the best hardware in the industry.

That's my point, they raped the OSS community & then pivoted away.
They don't make hardware, it's a software company who puts together hardware they purchase.
Hmm, I think it is more nuanced than that. Not even the big hardware players mfg all their own components.
This is exactly my point and the fud thrown at SeedSigner by the CEO of coinkite is a major reason why I go hard on this subject.
People think they need to spend money on expensive stuff to self custody their coins, but in reality one SeedSigner is enough for an entire family+.
Coinkite is overpriced trash, glorified by the dumbest bitcoiners on the planet cloaked in pseudo expertise.
Some big names we all know also won't speak out against what coinkite does because they rely on their funding & overall don't want to be combative due to hire ability which I totally understand. I won't disclose who & their exact views due to this but ive had in person conversations & I'll leave it at that.
