If you have spent way more time than you should have trying to solve a problem. That you absolutely know that can be resolved by reinstalling the OS on an already fresh install anyway. Just say fuck it and start over.

I would rather spend 1 more hour to reinstall the os, use the right solution that I knew I should have from the beginning, and resolve the issue gracefully. Than add several more hours to the 8 hours I have already spent trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole, because the wiki told me to.
