You had to weather the Sisters of Duras, Lursa and B'Etor, who used Toral, the young son of Duras, to challenge your position. But level-headed Picard, in his capacity as the Arbiter of Succession for the Klingon High Council, ensured your selection. It did, however, split the High Council and lead to a short-lived civil war between both Houses. But I salut you! Klingons who side with Romulans are without honour.
I salute you but some of your history is incorrect. The Duras were never in any position whereby they could have seized any real power. They were never a threat, never a challenge -- only a miserable petaH'Q would believe such nonsense... The "civil war" you refer to was nothing more than the rounding up of several criminals and execution of some traitors 👀
