Running an experiment.

Making devices harder to access could be a good thing. This means the phone is still as useful but can no longer slip into a pocket and always be present. It requires a determined effort to carry around or go and get from wherever it has been left in order to do something.

Only on week 1 but already using the device less.

i'm aware that this looks absolutely mental.

a true brick phone.

Interesting. Do you have a timeframe for the experiment and the sharing of your findings? Or is this a more personal indefinite one?

just seeing how it goes...

haha love it 😅

I wonder what is the motivation behind this amazing project 😄

brain goo

Or you know, use one of these desktop PC tower with large screen on a desk that you must physically sit in front, turn on, and focus on the tasks you are doing on it until you stop using it and start doing other things.

yes. i'm aware of those archaic devices. a number of the apps I use regularly are mobile first and won't work independently of a computer. messaging apps, banking, sms, phone calls that sort of thing.

“Put it on the shelf!” This was one of the best habits I implemented a few years back, I walk in the house and put my phone on the shelf. Be present 🤙🏽

yes. it's much better to treat them like a desktop computer rather than an always present device.
