Collecting Fennel seedlings from heavily poisoned roadsides.

I have the opportunity to dig up lots of wild Fennel seedlings along the roadside near my property. The area is sprayed with herbicide often by the council, but has not been as yet this winter. The seedlings and surrounding weeds, Bindi, all seem healthy and green.

Are there any risks to taking these, either as food later or as poor quality plants due to the constant spraying?

Why risk it? A pack of fennel seed is like $3.

Good point, I've collected seed before, but had trouble getting it to sprout.

Try refrigerating the seed for a day then soaking them for 6 hrs. You should get some good germ after that.
