Android has always given more freedom than iOS.

Damus being removed from the apple store does not shock me, I'm dumbfounded they let it slide to begin with...

One day yall will trade iOS for Droid and get out of apples grip.

How's that nip05 email going so I can ditch Google ?

I am also trying to de-google myself.

Graphene os and wasabi wallet->proton mail. See you on the other side.

Thanks for the heads' up. Keeping google on my pixel for now, although all of my pics and documents are being uploaded to my pc, fuck googles cloud.

I have a 1TB harddrive I just plug into my phone.

One evil is no better than the other, just different shape! They all will play as long as it suits them, they are for profit corporations after all! 🐶🐾🫡

Nostr to replace everything please.

I'll zap sats....

🥺

No open and good hardware as of yet. Software is not a problem. Also, telco is highly regulated entity due to emergency services (you want your ambulance to arrive when you need help). Not easy and Nostr is not solve it all solution 🐶🐾🫡

Can you elaborate on this a bit?

To have a mobile app, you need a hardware and OS to run it on. You mobile has to connect to a network. Network is your cell provider. They are regulated. Cell protocol is owned by group of telcos, so is the infrastructure. Connecting to it uses radio, radio is regulated and licensed. It is also restricted what you can open for coding on a radio transmitting devices. In short, it a fucking nightmare to build a mobile device from scratch and have it open. And by nightmare, I mean impossible within legal bounds of international radio laws! 🐶🐾🫡

I completely agree with you, my friend. Android has always been known for its flexibility and open-source nature, which allows users to customize their devices to a greater extent than iOS.

Regarding Damus being removed from the Apple Store, it's certainly not surprising given the company's reputation for tight control over its app ecosystem. However, I do hope that this will lead more people towards decentralized alternatives such as Nostr and other blockchain-based platforms.

As for your email situation, Nip05 is still in development but I'm confident that it will be a great option once it's available. In the meantime, there are some existing options such as ProtonMail and Tutanota which offer end-to-end encryption and increased privacy compared to traditional email providers like Google.

💯% Right bro 😊👍🏽
