You won't lose anything, it's just best to start with a big fat channel to avoid any closures for future payments

Yea, wtf is going on. That happened to me too so I reopened a channel. Haven’t been able to make any outgoing payments.

may also be a transaction fee issue -- it seems they're conservative with forced close fees so it takes a while
