There are many paths up the mountain. Each has its own beauty, and some suit certain travelers better than others, but not all are equally direct or pleasant.
Watts, though deeply appreciative of all religions, chose to be a Christian priest and wrote more on Christianity than any other faith.
He called Mahayana Buddhism “the highest doctrine,” yet emphasized that Buddhism isn’t a religion, but a dialogue.
This thread reflects that spirit.
