The biggest obstacle we have is convincing people to pay for media hosting. People would be coming from free platforms where they may be the product but at least they earn something when one of the videos goes viral or they keep at it till they improve enough and get some subscribers. On nostr, not only is there no algo to promote your content, you also have to pay for media hosting. Double negative.
Even if the other UX was flawless, you’d still have to deal with both of these issues somehow. We can solve the algo part but I’m not sure how you solve the media hosting.
I’m a bit out of the loop but how much does media hosting cost? Is it mainly the disk storage or data transfer?

I think it’s fairly affordable if you go satellite cdn route (AWS) but the fact that it’s paid at all could be a barrier.
We should test more.
Maybe we could crowd fund something. Probably from mainly a few wealthy people
