I was about to make fun of this by zapping the note, but the zap has been stuck on "sending" for several minutes so maybe theyre right lol

Zeus node in da phone uses zaplocker.
So when I get zapped it waits in the zaplocker for up to 24 hours or till I open the app & accept the zap.
Why it is centralized and what kind of backdoors is meant?
Lack of nodes that process transactions & the type that lead to stolen funds or government intervention, I believe is what the op meant.
ZEUS is the best self-custodial option both from a usability and portability perspective, and just that alone should tell you everything you need to know about Lightning.
