Главная уязвимость любого, даже самого приватного мессенджера, который мне знаком, на данный момент -- уровень IQ собеседни(ка/цы). Даже если вы напишете ему/ей под тройным сквозным-поперечным шифрованием со скрытием IP-адреса и без персональных данных, а потом ваш/а собеседни(к/ца) пойдёт на протест с незашифрованным телефоном, без пароля на мессенджере, не удаляя сообщений, и, например, попадется в руки неприятелей, им станет известно то, о чём вы переписывались. Если это было совершенное или запланированное нелегальное действие, последствия фатальны.

Of course people and their physical devices are likely the most vulnerable vector of attack, but that's not a reason to scare people away from using good apps like Signal. It's all about understanding your threat model, and taking the necessary precautions in addition to choosing the right app.

Apologies, perhaps it was a language thing, just sounded like the general point you were making was all these apps have some kind of problem so don't bother. Upon a closer reading, it looks like that might not be what you were saying.
