Soldering iron stopped working. I heated a thin screw driver over the gas stove. Worked surprisingly well. πŸ˜†

That's probably how they used to solder before electricity

quite certain of it. it made me start looking for an old soldering iron. πŸ™‚

time to solder pre electricity electrical wires the old fashioned way πŸ˜†

I've done that as well. Not for soldering though.

I love the ingenuity.

I bought a portable butane iron from Radioshack like 18 years ago. It's packed away somewhere but I use it when I need to solder big stuff like 10awg+ wires or just don't have electric where I'm working like when working on cars and such.

That’s the one that stopped working 🀷

Ah crap that ones my backup! Uh I guess I'd have to break out the acetylene, good looking nail, and some vice grips. XD

Actually though, a Radioshack butane iron? I thought i was the only on on earth that still used one

Actually it was a German Dremmel brand butane iron. Very expensive replacement parts.

Very fiat.
