'Rachel Bonch-Bruevich was an amateur pianist who composed and recorded a large number of ghostly solo piano pieces in the Soviet era, leaving behind an archive of home recordings, which was found. What we don’t know are the hows, wheres and most importantly whys. There’s little indication of the audience in mind, no clues towards context, or track names or the original format. Many motifs repeat themselves within her music, slight variations on the same song structures that seem to evolve over time.
