I am trying to get a #bitcoin #lightning #wallet so I can do the #zaps thing.

- #Alby, invite only

- #Strike, not open source, no APK, and likely depends on google play services

- #lnbits, says it is experimental and should only be used for testing

- #Zeus, couldn't figure it out plus I don't have sats to open a channel

Any suggestions on where I should go next?

Constraints:

- Must be either

- open source (preferrably on F-Droid) or

- web based

- I don't have any sats to spend yet

Things I'll tolerate:

- Can be a custodial solution

- I do want it to be simple, but I'm also willing to learn more about lightning networks if necessary

- I don't need advanced features like using it to log into websites; I just want to receive/send sats

- I'm willing to pay reasonable fees

You can use my personal node but I make no guarantees of funds or uptime. I can promise I won't intentionally rug you for whatever that's worth from an internet stranger.

So ... You could try phoenix but you'll have to pay quite high fee for transactions and each time you will need open channels , if you don't mind custodial you can try wallet of satoshi .. I think getalby is better ... But my favourite is using your own node and use Zeus to handle it everywhere

Thank you everyone who responded trying to help. I found >90% of the replies were actually helpful, and I'm now set up to grt and issue zaps.

Usually when I ask for help on social media, I get insulted, even if I've demonstrated that I did put in some effort to solve my own issue. Either that or people suggest things that I said I have already tried.

This #nostr place is alright.

#WalletOfSatoshi is one of the best custodial wallet and maybe the easiest to setup and use.

Thanks, but I'm sticking to open source apps. I do not trust the others. Even if they aren't malicious, and never get hacked by anyone who is malicious, they could just go under and then the app will stop installing on new phones.

With open source projects, the community can keep projects going no matter who decides to call it quits. They don't require anyone's permission to keep it alive.

You can use Fountain FM to get a lnaddy & use Phoenix(there is a cost to open a channels) to zap with.
