that's because it was set up and run by survivors of the catastrophe 3000 years before who also were the builders of all the pyramids all over the world elsewhere, south america, europe, even on at least one of the atlantic islands there is remnants of a pyramid, even one in australia i believe, i remember driving past it a long time ago - sure, it looks like a hill now but it's kinda obvious it's a weathered artificial structure if you ask me
