I’ve been using my home network’s relay as a poor mans pastebin for copying things between my windows and macos notedeck 😅. This would be easier with first class relays (discord style) 🤔

I didn't have signal installed on my windows machine so this seemed easiest ... and doesn't have to leave my network :D

Great use case for Syncthing, but still requires an install.

But with syncthing you have to create a file, no? Like you can just send a message, right?

You have to create something to sync. I don't think it has a messaging protocol like SMS if that's what you mean.

I do this a lot with Signal Note to Self 😂

And if it's too large (I try to respect the cost of running the service even if it will go through on Signal), Syncthing or Filen. The cost of Syncthing and Filen is completely on me so I feel better about using them for anything that is larger than text.
