I've always considered this guy a pest. It creeps up the trees. It seems like it would be detrimental to the trees growth. Perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe it is beneficial.
Changing the way one views the world is not an easy task. I'm hoping that learning more about permaculture will teach me to view things more holisticly.
Any thoughts on honeysuckle?

Do you train it around the tree? It tends to just go up.
Bending it back to the ground and when time is good, cut the main branches loose from the trunk so they hang without any "tree support". I think this willake him slow his growth upwards. Altough Im not an expert.
