I moved to Valencia 5 years ago and have been exploring Spain but Mar Menor is still on my list. Where do you recommend me to stay first?

Los Alcázares is a good base, small costal town on the shores of the Mar Menor. Beautiful promenade with amazing sunrises.
The cities of Cartagena and Murcia about 25-30 mins away.
Cartagena is a very relaxed vibe. The Roman theatre is worth visiting when there.
Murcia has some lovely plazas. Both very relaxed.
Good value & quality restaurants and cafes throughout the region.
La Manga is interesting as it’s got the Mediterranean on one side and the Mar Menor on the other. Sandwiched between.
Micro climate, often 20oC daily in peak winter.
