None of this is part of a meme mocking the current failures of electric vehicle technology.
That said.
Ever waited for an electric car to charge at a station?
Far more time consuming.
EV tech will continue to advance. (And it should)
Nothing is perfect (ever).
Cleaner air and more efficient use of resources is a valid goal.
The current state of EV technology has been badly oversold as a panacea for all environmental ills while being far worse overall in almost every way.
And after all that.
Your 82 f150 is a good choice.
(I miss my 88 bronco and am currently building out a 76 f250 with a Cummins diesel swap as my primary work vehicle.)
I totally get that environmental exaggerating angst, I'm just not sure calling the diesel generator charging the car silly is wise!
And yeah I took a Tesla on a small road trip in Arizona & didn't mind the charge - but I wouldn't want one yet for my lifestyle as I don't commute to work so the benefits aren't there for someone like me.
I also don't like the idea of heavy EMFs around me & more importantly any future children for long rides which is what I would use it for realistically.
An old truck is essential! Love that youre working on one as well!
Luckily I haven't had to do much once I replaced the top half of the engine.
