Is there an official part of the protocol for bookmarks, or is it all client side?

In other words, I would freaking love to have my bookmarks follow me everywhere. I use them religiously to keep good records and references for things.

I always hated with the utmost passion that I couldn’t export my Twitter bookmarks.

Client side currently, I think 🤔

Or you can try using Obsidian md notes vault

I use the shit out of Obsidian

As far as I know they're only client side, but NIP-51 exists so I'm not sure why they can't follow you around. This is a question for a client dev.

In Amethyst. Public bookmarks are broadcasted I'm assuming.

Still relying on relays to save them though. And the notes you're bookmarking.

Being able to fwd other's notes to your personal Umbrel node would help with this.

Assuming that's following NIP-51 (I don't know), private bookmarks are broadcast as well, just encrypted.

Actually a tweetstamp-style bot would be great. Stamp a note. It sends a copy or a screenshot to your Nostr DMs. Then you have a little bookmarks feed.

Could be followed too, to get a digest of good notes across the Nostrverse.

I believe they're mostly client side, but NIP 51 is a new NIP that solves the problem within the protocol.

We need a dedicated bookmarking app!

Something that indexes and saves the notes, backs up media, fully searchable, categorisable, post from app etc.

I’ve noticed many don’t really use bookmarks but those of us who do are power users who hoard bookmarks and really like the PoW of referring back to others on whose ideas we’re building from.

Might be a small niche but I’d pay for this!

I'm sure you can export your Twitter bookmarks via the Twitter data takeout feature. Of course, that may require downloading gigabytes of stuff.

NIP51 lists, can be clear text or encrypted
