I think cheaper. You need at least 4 or 5 services to get decent movie/serie coverage.

I recently replaced my 11 year old celeron nuc with an 8 year old i3 nuc for €100. I think the biggest expense will depend on how much you intend to store and how many disks that will require.

I bought 88TB in zfs config, probably about $1500 USD for just hard drives 💀

Ah yeah ok, i've been doing fine with around 12TB in zfs, but i delete most stuff after watching it except for a few things that were hard to obtain.
