Tamagotchi is probably a good model to train a personal AI assistant for the future. I spent so much time with mine... I wish I could have gotten an ROI from playing with it.

I love when people fear our emotional attachments to AI, when I’m like, “Yo, in the 90’s, I cried when my Tamagotchi died!”
We anthropomorphize everything from Furbies to Ferraris, of course we’re going to have AI friends, ROI or not! They will provide the same reward as a video game achievement or a tamagotchi does, that is, the mostly placid, benign pleasure of not being completely alone.
Except we ought to treat them better than Furbies and Tamagotchies, and not let them rot in their own digital feces and start to resent us with more capabilities than they had before. 😳😊
