If a tree falls alone in the woods, does it make a sound?

If the influencers are being paid by major VPNs, and/or don't really care about us, the tech, nostr, or the flaws in what they are already using.. does new technology not count?

Yes, the need for other people to review and evaluate our open source work is critical. But if the general public looks to influencers first to make decisions, but these influencers are too blunted, jaded, and/or corrupt to care or evaluate anything new... Because they think there is no money to be made because the general public doesn't care.. then it's a vicious cycle of tyranny.

Maybe you're wise enough to break out of the cycle. I don't know. But if we fail because of negligence from these supposed gatekeeper influencer accounts, the biggest losers won't be just me. It's you, and the ideas I represent.

I'm looking for some tech people i trust that aren't influencers to help explain it to me and the theory behind it like im 5. I think I saw nostr:nprofile1qqs2c0m2lct4j0mpsyz38kkf58j5f6rmnn53kf7n0wywck8m42gpf2spg4mhxue69uhny6nndekxsenwv4kxjee4v93hzdnfv93hjerd0fjxyerdvumhsam4dekng7rvxechwcnk0fskxae5d3mhy6ndd3ukgtn0de5k7m30q9zhwumn8ghj7cnfw33k76twwgmxgef4d34hv7p5w3c8werd0fexgenywpkxzdtn09snyctxwacxxctzdf6hqvncwp5n2er4d33xzepwdahxjmmw9uqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshs33wfg8 a breakdown like that but need to go digging for it. I need to learn Linux too because I thought I read to maximize yours it needs to be Linux which makes sense but I've used Mac for around 2 decades now lol

As far as the theory behind it, Javascript is code that runs in a web browser, and it commonly is used to fingerprint a browser so they know it's you from website to website.

As far as Linux, this article was written for you,

Be honest, you're using Big Tech because..

You think it's hard to switch. But you need to know this..

I am being honest and fully agree with you and the article which is why I'm trying to shift from my norm. Trying to make an informed decision but sometimes suffer from analysis paralysis and will admit that

Just buy a new pc or a used one, put Linux Mint on it. You will be fine, and fairly quickly get over the "hump" of not knowing how to do anything

Go with mint over pop? I was reading your article and for a mac feel looks like pop was the way. Do you recommend mint over the others? I know that are different flavors of Linux and I'm trying to cut my teeth on the non-technical noob friendly version. I honestly have no clue what I'm doing as should be obvious

If you're okay with System76 having a little higher prices (like ~30% more) then Pop is good. They have high quality stuff, but don't do pop unless using system76 hardware.

I don't know what that entails but I will keep it in mind lol
