I'm trying something out. I'll let you guys know how it works out. I got 900 eggs from a local farmer that are unfit for sale because they don't make weight. I got them for free. Reference the white egg as compared to my brown egg for comparison. They are probably about 2/3 to 3/4 the size of a normal egg. They're supposed to be good for about a year after you do it. I'm having a hard time finding the proper "expensive" lime. So I just used garden lime and doubled the concentration. There's 250 eggs in that bucket.

Not garden lime. Pickling lime.

Food grade calcium hydroxide. Garden lime is calcium carbonate.

Nice! Let us know how it works out. Whenever i have too many eggs, i will sometimes scramble them and freeze them. When i cook them, they taste just like fresh. Just another option if you ever needed it.

Did not work. Cost me next to nothing so I wanted to find out but garden lime is a no go.
