What are your concerns regarding bots? I like it much more when anyone can do their own and not "trusted devs" only.
Many bots are run by self-serving assholes who are willing to impose various levels of suffering upon others for the bot owners gain.
I want to be able to block them from following me.
Sincere question - what is problem/risk for you when someone you dislike follows you?
I want my notifications to be legitimate, not diluted by people abusing NOSTR's lack of defense against "follow churning" to get free advertising.
I want to see when people follow me but if every fucking day the same 5 fucking bots follow me 3 times each, it makes the follow notifications diluted. It's false signal. It's abusive. Honestly, if I ever lucked out and found a person who runs bots on social media, I would disable them from ever being able to use a computer ever again.
I don’t receive notifications about who follows me, nor do I pay attention to the follower count. It has no impact on my daily life.
For reference, I use Amethyst.

If this place is to be regarded by many as a good place, it needs to be flexible and adaptable to the preferences of many people. People will not be adapting to be just like you and if you think that's the answer, you really have a lot to learn about human nature.
Thanks for letting me know what you use. I've heard of Amethyst before. I haven't explored it yet, mostly because my life doesn't revolve around keeping up to date with NOSTR developments. I'm going to guess that, just like every other NOSTR client out there, Amethyst is NOT a magic bullet that has no issues. If Amethyst has options for follow notifications, I WILL turn them on because I want them. If the same bots keep following and unfollowing, I will continue to see those notifications.
I want real notifications. I want to connect with real people who are active on NOSTR. I have zero fucking interest in being followed by the same god damn bot for the 1000th fucking time.
