I think some of us “don’t completely hate” stable coins because they are a bridge for normies to get to bitcoin.

Let’s remember how the average person is….it’s hard to expect them to go from Fiat to btc directly

Getting them used to have a wallet, pay with it, manage utxo, is a great way to get them used to it. Once they got familiar with it switching to btc is a very short step.

Ideally you’d want ppl to go directly to btc, but let’s be real, this is a necessary (unpleasant) middle step for most ppl

In my life, I have never heard of or used stablecoins to obtain bitcoin.

Have you used robosats or lnp2pbot?

Sorry maybe I didn’t express myself well, basically: some ppl would not use btc because it is too foreign to them, but they would use usdt (because its the dollar, it’s familiar enough to them).

But, once they get use to using a wallet for usdt, it’s easier for them to embrace btc and use it because they feel more secure in using a wallet and btc feels less alien.

It’s basically a away to onboard ppl to btc through usdt

Like you said if someone has already made up his mind to use btc he needs no usdt, he can get it directly via robosats, bisq etc

Very well said. It is hella hard to get The Coin PFP P2P, and scary to trust exchanges with their KYC implications. Unless you *know #nostr, it is hard to find peers to buy Coin from, and most don’t *know, or have the time/good sense to even care.
