My son wanted to do something stupid and came to ask how to do it in best possible way (first victory)

I explained to him the disadvantages and possible consequences of the whole idea.

He asked if he could do it. I told him that it was up to him to decide if the experiment was worth the trouble or not. (big internal victory. Obvious answer was “fuck no you madman 🤣)

He decided not to do it (second victory)

NGL I’m pretty proud of myself

Sounds like you must be a great parent

I try to do my best, it’s not always easy so I celebrate my victories when they come

Sounds like he will do well as an adult!

Nicely done! Now I want to know what the idea was 😂

Hah! Well done brother! Nobody's born knowing how to parent.

Really curious what he was planning to do though 👀

It involved potential energy, testing breaking points and various other variables related to aerodynamics and potentially pyrotechnics

Sounds like something I'd be tempted by 😝

We’ll test some of his ideas, but with other tools 🤣🤣🤣

Can’t ever remember asking, neither did any of us fall down from those facades & shit ;-)

I often used the age old do first ask later approach. Mainly because the asking never ended well…

Permission… Hmmm… I remember being back in a town up far North in 2012, first time since 89…

I was STILL looking over my shoulder instinctively once there haha!

The shit we pulled off that last spring in the army… Should probably still be classified ;-)

It's a lot harder to walk them through it and leave them choice, but it pays off huge in the end. (2 kids 18 and 20, turned out pretty good)
