I've been watching a trend of postmodernists arguing that because God's love is unconditional, any lifestyle is acceptable.
While the premise is true, the conclusion is not.
The distinction between hurt and harm is the key in my opinion:
When we go to the dentist to get a root canal does that hurt? Yes.
Was it harmful? No.
When we eat the candy that gave you the cavity did that hurt? No.
Was it harmful? Yes.
Would a good parent be comfortable watching their children harm themselves?
