I think your philosophy is the proper approach to reduce anxiety but our brains are hard wired to reduce uncertainty. We can’t just pretend that’s not who we are.

I think believing you can create certainty and control things clearly outside your control, is irrational and leads to nothing but anxiety. Put your energy on the things within your control, and do those things to the best of your ability

Trying to gather some information before making a decision is not a symptom of anxiety. We can intuit a lot of things, but this is not one of them.

I’m all for gathering information.

Absolutely, this is something we can all agree upon. The unanswerable question however is “what can we control?” The things we as humans previously thought we couldn’t control changes constantly. That’s progress.
