I think he switched to a second tank? Can that be or no?
Probably that’s what happened. Airplanes usually have multiple tanks and there’s a fuel select valve. He probably had it on one tank instead of “both” and just switched it over to the other wing tank. It happens. My training taught me to use “both” but there are sometimes good reasons to feed off of one.
