GM Nostr, I found one of the strangest mushrooms I’ve ever foraged yesterday.
Aborted Entoloma.
I found the developed mushroom to be better, but the aborted version was good. It’s got a little bitterness to it, gonna make a ranch dressing today to drown it out a bit.

I’m pretty sure you should not eat the developed version. The shrimp of the woods is an interesting mushroom. It’s a fungus parasitizing another fungus.

The reason why the state of Michigan doesn’t include the non-aborted form in the list of 20 spectate can be wildly harvested for sale is because of the many poisonous look a-likes.
You are correct, I only ate the non aborted versions that were directly attached to the aborted versions
