Probably Hal Finney had a friend from the UK who had been cooperating with him. Dunno, maybe Adam Back saw this headline, posted in the remailer and Hal used it in the genesys block.
I believe it was Hal Finney most probably hiding behind a British style of writing.
That has been my way of thinking as well. If you’re trying to remain anonymous this is a solid tactic to throw people off the trail.
One of Satoshi’s distinctive characteristics is thinking ahead. So as such it does seem possible that “The Times” headline inclusion is a red herring. Either way he is definitely a tricky but brilliant bastard lol
