"I am awake now" can sometimes translate to: "I moved from the ~asleep~ side to the ~conscious~ side" and what that means is, the internal divide is still there. This one has fucked me up hard a few times. Unaddressed internal division - the place in a person that is predisposed to thinking in binaries, left / right being the big one - will make you very predisposed to ideological compliance.
