Of course it's not for a trump hotel, it's to create greater israel, but since ethnic cleansing is very unpopular you let your enemy attack you first, so you can justify a war and displacing them..

I guess my only criticism of that theory is "why gaza?". There's plenty of land at the Med sea's edge already controlled by Israel. The map in the article itself shows the suggested canal route avoiding gaza.
