Does the American ruling elite realize that most young people now think of their country like they think of Saudi Arabia and North Korea, and for the same underlying reasons of rampant official cruelty and kleptocratic corruption?

No amount of forcing school kids to wave flags and pledge allegiance is going to change the reality that regular people can’t afford to live and didn’t ask to be so heavily policed.
