Perfect every time.

Perfect every time.

Ah, I could use some help!
Iβve been experimenting with espresso. Using a manual press (flair). Grind seems good - as fine as I can get it to still allow a good pull and not choke the press. Beans are also roasted by me - around full city or full city+.
Doing 17g -> 44g, about 1:2.5.
Flavor for days. But itβs quite bitter. How do I lower the bitterness? Even with milk, it comes through.
Hmm it could be anything π€
Coarser grind or even lowering your brew temp a bit also affects bitterness as you donβt want to scorch it. I tend to go 1:2 which also affects bitterness levels.
Thanks for the response.
I started with 1:2. Raised it to accommodate tastes, tho still quite bitter.
Havenβt messed with temps, much. Have been reading that 95c is kind of the goal. I can definitely lower it to maybe 88-90c to see how that affects it.
Thanks!
I have found that it varies depending on your personal taste. I experimented a lot and I didn't get it right for a while. π
